- ➤ Grace Rivera-Oven, a Gaithersburg High alum, began her term as president of Montgomery County Public Schools Board this week — she aims to strengthen unity, tackle bullying, and address funding challenges in aging facilities to support over 154,000 students at 211 schools. - ➤ MCPS superintendent Thomas Taylor recommended that the county school board begin formal revocation proceedings for MECCA Business Learning Institute in Bethesda after the school failed to fix issues with special education and enrollment dropped.
