- ➤ Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said two space heater fires occurred over the weekend in Glenmont and White Oak. The service advised residents to keep heaters on flat surfaces and plug them directly into the wall—helping prevent nearby items from catching fire. WJLA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Montgomery County Department of Transportation invites high school students to join the Vision Zero Youth Ambassador Program to learn about road safety and help reduce traffic injuries. - ➤ Montgomery County will ban plastic bags at retailers starting January 1, 2026; stores can charge 10 cents per bag and exceptions apply for pharmacy items, fresh produce, meats, seafood, dry cleaning, and garment bags.
