- ➤ Community members gathered Thursday evening at the Church of Christ at Manor Woods in Montgomery County to honor 11-year-old Summer Lim—who was fatally struck by a county school bus near the church—and a memorial has grown at the crash site to support her grieving family. WUSA9

- ➤ Craig Heist, a longtime sports broadcaster for WTOP who covered major regional events for over 30 years, died at 66. He had covered the Capitals season opener on Wednesday and was set to attend the Commanders game on Monday — his cause of death is unknown. WTOP
