- ➤ Sligo Creek Parkway is closing today between Piney Branch Road and Wayne Avenue for about two months for the Purple Line light rail project—detours will guide both vehicles and pedestrians while the Sligo Creek Trail stays open. WJLA
- ➤ Residents in Montgomery County oppose a zoning amendment sponsored by Councilmember Dawn Luedtke that would let wireless companies quickly relocate cell towers for up to two years if repairs are needed—residents worry about towers up to 200 feet being placed near schools and homes without proper notice. The proposal includes a 90-day review process and will be discussed at a committee session on October 6 at 1:30 p.m. WJLA
