- ➤ Montgomery County Police are searching for Alejandro Zunca who is suspected of impersonating an officer — they ask anyone with information to call the police. WUSA9
- ➤ Rockville High School and Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School received police protection after pranksters falsely reported gunmen near the schools — police are investigating whether the swatting hoaxes are connected. Montgomery Community Media
- ➤ Charles Newton Townsend IV, 49, was arrested on Aug. 29 at Quince Orchard Library for allegedly sexually assaulting children — detectives say he is held without bond in Rockville while they investigate for more victims as he awaits trial on Oct. 14. MoCo360
- ➤ Jason Duane Moore, 47, was arrested Tuesday for murdering musician Nathaniel Potts in December 2022 when he was fatally shot on his birthday in a Silver Spring parking lot, and he now faces charges of first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony and assault. Montgomery Community Media
