- ➤ Neighbors Barista will open its first brick-and-mortar shop at 1101 Nelson St. in early August—co-owners Spencer Trach and Lulu Parajuli are finalizing inspections in Rockville and will offer coffee, baked goods and pastries from Fresh Baguette while hosting community events. - ➤ Charles W. Woodward High School in Rockville will begin its final construction phase as Hess Construction starts a $25.4 million contract to complete the auditorium and science labs—marking the over $180 million project’s final step. - ➤ County emergency teams used 35 solar-powered flood sensors to quickly alert residents and close roads during the worst flash flood on July 19 since emergency monitoring began in 2013—no serious injuries or property damage were reported.
