- ➤ Montgomery County Councilmembers will vote on July 15 on creating a new 300-acre development district in White Oak near the FDA headquarters and Adventist Hospital to attract private investment for housing, retail and commercial projects. County Executive Marc Elrich said the plan is expected to generate over 17,000 construction jobs, 9,000 permanent jobs and $62 million in annual revenue while using Tax Increment Financing — though critics say it may mainly boost temporary construction employment.
