ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A grease fire in the basement kitchen of a Rockville home on London Lane caused five adults, three children and a dog to escape uninjured Sunday morning around 9 a.m., and the displaced family will get help from the Red Cross.  WJLA

CRIME NEWS

  • Early Saturday morning a Maryland trooper’s vehicle was struck from behind on the Beltway by a gray Tesla driven by the suspected impaired 34-year-old Teo Kim while the officer was investigating a crash—he was taken to a hospital and later released as Kim was transported for treatment with charges pending consultation with the State’s Attorney.  WUSA9
  • Montgomery County Police said a man was shot at Silver Spring Metro Station on Saturday night at about 11:08 p.m.—he sustained non-life-threatening injuries and Metro Transit Police took over the investigation.  WJLA

  • Local home inspector Philip Dancer of Dancer and Co. Home Inspections advised Rockville homeowners to inspect for gaps, close window shades, and delay using heat-emitting appliances during the heat wave—he also recommended setting air conditioners between 75 and 78 degrees and using dehumidifiers to maintain humidity between 30 and 60%.  WTOP
