- ➤ The Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival—now in its third year and the largest in the DMV—wrapped up its weeklong celebration on Thursday with events starting at 9:00 a.m., including an opening ceremony, family carnival, parade and fireworks, where local officials, community leaders and founder LaTisha Gasaway-Paul delivered remarks. - ➤ The Metro Red Line experienced service disruptions on Wednesday and Thursday as trains ran on single tracks and some only operated between Shady Grove and Farragut North, delaying daily commutes.
