- ➤ Alvin Chun, 64, and Ronald Wesley Johnson, 62, were arrested after a string of armed bank robberies in Kensington, including a Feb. 1 incident at Montgomery Avenue M&T Bank and a March 18 robbery at the same bank—police charged them with assault, armed robbery, conspiracy and use of a firearm. - ➤ The Montgomery County school board approved a $3.6 billion operating budget for fiscal year 2026 on June 11, 2025—cutting spending in key areas to close the gap between its initial request and the final plan. - ➤ On Tuesday the Council unanimously voted to reappoint Megan Davey Limarzi as Montgomery County’s inspector general, beginning her second four-year term. - ➤ Montgomery County Councilmember Andrew Friedson announced Wednesday that he is running for county executive in the 2026 election to address high housing costs and a slow-growing economy.
