  • The Communications Workers of America reached a tentative union agreement with Microsoft for 300 quality assurance workers at Rockville-based video game maker ZeniMax Media that includes wage increases and job protections. The workers will vote on the agreement by June 20.  WTOP

  • Rockville’s Silver Diner said that customer Fredi Torrez died on May 21 after he returned to punch a manager following a request to leave—employees restrained him and called 9-1-1—Montgomery County Police ask anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.  Montgomery Community Media
  • Guy Tyrell Johnson, 42, was arrested Thursday in Washington, D.C. and now faces a second-degree murder charge for fatally stabbing 31-year-old Emmanuel Bisudu Sesay near the White Oak Shopping Center on May 15 after a physical altercation at about 10:30 p.m.—he is awaiting extradition to Montgomery County.  MoCo360

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Montgomery County Public Schools agreed with the inspector general’s report that found inaccurate inventory records for over 200,000 Chromebooks, risking insufficient supply or excess purchases. The district will create a new inventory process and start quarterly reviews by October 2025—aiming to improve tracking and budgeting.  MoCo360

  • Maryland officials remind residents to prepare as hurricane season will begin tomorrow, June 1, and run until Nov. 30 with predictions of 14 to 21 named storms and up to six major hurricanes.
