- ➤ More than two months after ICE deported Kilmar Ábrego García without due process, Congressman Ivey was not allowed to visit him at a detention center in Santa Ana in El Salvador, and Ivey said he felt very disappointed—he argued that he should have the chance to see his elector. Wes Moore announced $1 million in grants to 11 colleges for the ACET program that helps former federal workers start teaching careers, with Montgomery College receiving a $100,000 grant. - ➤ County officials admitted they made a mistake when they missed an ICE detainer request for a gang member on May 15 and said they will fix the process by using one system for all ICE requests—leaders stressed that increased oversight will help prevent similar errors in the future.
