- ➤ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School principal Brandi K. Overton was named this year’s recipient of the Mark Mann Excellence and Harmony Award for her work in academic excellence, positive human relations, and community outreach; her innovative leadership helped the school rise to a three-star rating for the first time since 2019. - ➤ The Montgomery County school board voted Thursday to raise school meal prices by 30 cents for the 2026-27 academic year. Breakfast will cost $1.60 and lunch for elementary students will cost $2.85 and for secondary students $3.10 (free and reduced-price meals remain unchanged). MoCo360

- ➤ A May 26 cornerstone ceremony marked the completion of the 44th student-built house by construction trades programs at Thomas Edison High School of Technology and Seneca Valley High School in cooperation with the Montgomery County Students Construction Trades Foundation.
