- ➤ Montgomery County Public Schools honored two elementary school teachers—Charles Silberman of Rolling Terrace and Julee Lipsman of Great Seneca Creek—with the Shirley J. Lowrie “Thank You for Teaching” Awards, each receiving $2,500 for contributions in curriculum innovation and community partnerships. The awards celebrate their dedication to student success. - ➤ The Montgomery County Alliance of Black School Educators recognized 28 graduating seniors during its 15th annual Distinguished African American Scholar Awards at Rockville High School on April 30.
