- ➤ Vipul Thakkar (53) of Owings Mills pleaded guilty to a gold bar scam that targeted two elderly victims in Montgomery County and received a 10-year sentence with only 18 months to serve, 5 years of probation, and an order to pay $40,000 in restitution. WTOP
- ➤ On April 27, 2025, at about 7:40 a.m., Montgomery County Police stopped Derwood driver Karen Christine Gangloff when her Jeep sped through barriers set to protect Pike's Peek 10k runners—officers later broke her window to remove her and charged her with first-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
