ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On April 26th around 9:59 p.m. a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Aspen Hill Road in Aspen Hill and later died at a hospital while police continued their investigation with the driver of a silver 2024 Acura Integra remaining at the scene.  Montgomery Community Media

CRIME NEWS

  • A Derwood woman drove her Jeep Wrangler through a barricade set up for runners at Pike’s Peek 10K on Sunday morning—she hit a police cruiser and was arrested on charges of first-degree assault and disorderly conduct with no injuries reported.  MoCo360
  • Montgomery County police asked the public for help identifying a Hispanic woman in her mid-20s with tattoos who died shortly after being brought to White Oak Medical Center at about 7:15 a.m. on April 27 with a bullet wound — they are also seeking information on a Hispanic man of interest who left the scene in a white Ford Mustang and urge anyone with details to call the non-emergency number.  Montgomery Community Media
  • Montgomery County police are seeking help to identify a Hispanic woman in her early to mid-20s with tattoos who died from a gunshot wound after being dropped off at White Oak Medical Center and the Hispanic man seen in surveillance driving a white Ford Mustang who fled the scene early Sunday.  FOX 5 DC

  • Montgomery County Council is voting today to override County Executive Marc Elrich’s veto of a housing bill that would convert empty office buildings into homes amid a growing housing crisis—The council may also introduce a resolution to raise the county income tax from 3.2% to 3.3% while reviewing budget options for savings.  Montgomery Community Media
