- ➤ Montgomery County Public Schools named eleven students Carson Scholars, awarding each a $1,000 scholarship for academic excellence and volunteer work. Five additional students earned Recognized Carson Scholar status by maintaining a 3.75 GPA while volunteering. Montgomery County Public Schools
- ➤ Students from Montgomery County Public Schools competed at the recent Maryland SkillsUSA competition, and gold medal winners will advance to the national event in Atlanta in June. - ➤ Fifteen MCPS high school seniors have been awarded National Merit corporate-sponsored scholarships with awards—renewable for up to four years—that provide annual stipends from $1,000 to $10,000 and are usable at any regionally accredited college. Montgomery County Public Schools
- ➤ Mill Creek Towne Elementary School Principal Robyn Shinn + Assistant Principal Rachel Cravath received the Nancy C. Walker Award for Outstanding Support to a Library Media Program for the 2025+2026 school year after being nominated by media specialist Bonnie Hines who praised their efforts in securing funds for inclusive books. - ➤ Mia Dove, a senior at Damascus High School, was named the 2026 Maryland Student Journalist of the Year by the Maryland-D.C.
