  • Montgomery County Animal Services is hosting two pet food pantries through June. One is at the Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus in Rockville on select Saturdays (12701 Veirs Mill Road), and the other is at its Adoption Center in Derwood on select Sundays and Wednesdays, accepting unopened pet food donations.  WTOP

  • Montgomery County Public Schools held its inaugural Superintendent’s Shuffle Saturday morning at Gaithersburg High School to help cut $1.2 million in student meal debt with support from the Dine with Dignity Campaign as families ran a 5K through Bohrer Park and returned to John H.   • Hundreds attended a citizenship clinic in Montgomery County today that offered legal guidance for residents pursuing citizenship, officials said.  WUSA9
  • Montgomery County Public Libraries canceled a Hindi-language event scheduled for today at Germantown Library after a coalition of civil rights and religious groups objected to a local Hindi school linked to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA).   • Metro announced that three Metro Red Line stations (Grosvenor-Strathmore, Medical Center and Bethesda) will close from July 6 to Sept. 6 for construction and maintenance this summer, with free shuttle buses and MARC Commuter Rail offering alternative service.  FOX 5 DC
