- ➤ Abby Johnson’s HenPals Network rehomes retired laying hens from large-scale egg farms by connecting farmers with local adopters. Since starting in late 2025, the nonprofit has placed over 200 chickens in Montgomery County and urges prospective hen owners to review local regulations (flock registration is required in Maryland).
