EDUCATION NEWS

  • Two local teens from Charles Herbert Flowers High School & Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School earned the prestigious Chick Evans Scholarship for caddying at Langston Golf Course. They will begin college this fall at one of the program’s partner universities.  WJLA
  • MCPS approved an online instruction plan during a board meeting in Rockville to offer virtual learning on extended weather closures once all make-up days are used. The plan provides synchronous + asynchronous instruction and supplies middle and elementary students with Chromebooks for virtual days.  MoCo360
  • WTOP’s Eyes to the Skies preview shows April bringing an Artemis II launch window April 1–6, a full pink moon tonight, and a Lyrids meteor shower peak on April 22 for local stargazers. Rockville residents can check nearby observatory notices for details.  WTOP
