- ➤ A homicide investigation was launched in Potomac after a man went to Rockville City Police at 8 a.m. on March 30 to report that he murdered a family member—officers responded to the 12600 block of Tribunal Lane and found an injured adult female victim who was pronounced dead after rescue efforts; her body was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. - ➤ The Montgomery County Council will meet today at 9:15 a.m. in Rockville to vote on proposals that include holding landlords to consumer protection standards, expanding the homeowners tax credit, taking a straw vote on a Bethesda Downtown Minor Master Plan amendment, and holding a public hearing on giving displaced federal workers hiring priority. The council will also consider proposed zoning changes to remove a cap on new development in downtown Bethesda — an effort aimed at supporting local residents amid rising property assessments. - ➤ The County Council discussed a proposed zoning bill on Monday that would allow duplexes, triplexes, townhouses and apartment buildings along designated corridors to address Montgomery County's affordable housing shortage—15% of the new units must meet workforce housing standards.
