  • Rockville’s Hank Dietle’s Tavern has launched a fundraiser to fix its boogie-busted dance floor from years of live music and dancing — the county’s oldest bar since prohibition seeks community support to restore its iconic space.  MoCo360

  • Eleven local restaurants and chefs, including Silver and Sons BBQ and Aventino Cucina, were named semifinalists for the RAMMYS culinary awards— the first time in 44 years; finalists will be named on April 6, with public voting starting on April 20.  MoCo360

  • Hundreds of families and community members urged MCPS on March 20 to change its regional program model before the board vote on March 26, citing missing details on cost+evaluation+equity for high school programs; if approved, the plan will affect eighth graders and current high schoolers in legacy programs.  MoCo360

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • DC Water held a forum at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda on March 20 to update residents on cleanup of the Potomac spill and canal debris removal. Officials plan to expedite sediment testing plus extend remediation downstream as community worries about contaminants persist.  MoCo360

  • A popular frozen spinach bites product sold at Aldi has been recalled due to possible rodent hair contamination, with 7,894 units distributed in Maryland and Pennsylvania since Jan. 16.
