- ➤ Tiffany and Chris McCasland of Rockville secured a $200,000 investment for their product The Chair Blanket on ABC's Shark Tank Wednesday evening. The couple will use the funds to expand their business. MoCo360

- ➤ Twelve middle schools competed last month at Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus Theatre Arts Building for the Black History 365 Knowledge Bowl. Julius West Middle School won first place; the event, co-sponsored by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Mu Nu Chapter + Montgomery College, highlighted Black history as American history. - ➤ Montgomery County today keeps its advisory against using the Potomac River for recreation as water tests still show high E. coli levels near the Potomac Whitewater Racing Center's training canal despite some promising results. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fani-González unveiled a proposed zoning amendment on Thursday at Soltesz Engineering in Rockville to cut permitting times from 120 to 60 days for projects creating at least 200 jobs or in strategic industries. The council will consider the measure on Tuesday. MoCo360
- ➤ Safety advocates and transportation officials announced a national school bus safety plan that recommends 69 measures to curb drivers from illegally passing stopped buses. The plan calls for using cameras and raising fines, with pilot projects underway in nearby counties (Montgomery, Howard, Prince George’s, and Anne Arundel) to protect students. WJLA

- ➤ Montgomery County Planning Board extended Aksoylu Properties' expired plans for a 106-unit high-rise at 8008 Wisconsin Ave in downtown Bethesda to Dec. 31, 2026 & the public facilities review to Dec. 31, 2027.
