  • Montgomery County Department of Transportation is offering low-cost adult bike classes and *free* walk-up e-scooter sessions this spring at select sites, including Rockville and Germantown; registration costs $10 for residents and is required for sessions limited to 25 participants starting around 10 a.m.  WUSA9

  • Montgomery County and the Henry M. Jackson Foundation officially launched HJF Innovation Labs + a biotech incubator in Bethesda that supports startups developing military and civilian medical technologies.   • Pepco CEO Tyler Anthony said winter bills now include delivery and supply costs, with supply rates increasing from $29 to $333 per megawatt day after heavy cold use. Customers eligible for a $300 relief credit can apply online + lawmakers plan new power plants for long-term relief.  FOX 5 DC

  • MCPS plans to purchase 140 gas-powered school buses after reporting that its electric fleet could not meet transportation demands.   • D.C. Water is starting to clean up park land near the collapsed sewer line along Clara Barton Parkway in Montgomery County using a bypass that sends sewage through a short canal stretch. Repairs on the 72-inch pipeline may take about two months.  WTOP

  • Tax filers in Rockville can expect larger refunds with new law changes that raise the standard deduction and child tax credit — residents should gather documents for tip, overtime, auto loan interest and senior deductions before the April 15 filing deadline.  FOX 5 DC

  • Allison Solomon was diagnosed with colon cancer at 37 in 2024 and has been in remission since, now sharing her experience as an advocate for screening while supporting the D.C. ScopeItOut 5K on March 22 as part of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.  WTOP
