EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Montgomery County Board of Education will decide on Jan.22 whether to revoke MBLI’s charter after receiving additional documentation on special education compliance + finances. MBLI says it is updating IEPs and meeting with families, while some parents praise the school’s support. WJLA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents voiced concerns about speeding, distracted driving and missing sidewalks at a road safety town hall Saturday at the Montgomery County Council Office at 100 Maryland Ave. Officials, including Transportation Director Conklin and MCPS Superintendent Taylor, said feedback will guide Vision Zero plans & street improvements. - ➤ Pepco and the Salvation Army are expanding their winter energy relief program to help qualifying households as rising utility costs prompt added support. The Customer Relief Fund receives $1.5 million to offer aid of up to $300, with applications available now in Maryland and in February in DC. WUSA9
