About this event
Pre-Pointe This preparatory class focuses on the specific foot, ankle, and core strength required for the demands of pointe work. Through targeted conditioning and specialized barre exercises, dancers will develop the alignment and stability necessary to progress their classical vocabulary. While designed for those working toward the possibility of dancing en pointe, the class is also highly beneficial for any dancer looking to increase their lower-limb strength and flexibility. Participants must have at least three years of dedicated training; no special footwear is required beyond standard ballet slippers. Please bring your own flat resistance band (medium or heavy tension recommended). While not a strict requirement, it is highly recommended to take this class as an add-on to the technique class immediately preceding it, ensuring the body is properly warm and primed for conditioning. This course serves as the ideal preparation for moving into Beginning Pointe for Adults once a four-year technical foundation is achieved.
