About this event

A Special Children's Author Reading with Mia Dickerson

Ideal for ages: Infants through 8 years old

Join Enough Adoption Foundation for a special author reading of Mia Bear Is Finally Home , a heartwarming children's picture book about adoption, love, belonging, and the many ways families are formed.

Written by Mia Dickerson and her late mother, Margie Hampton, the story follows Mama Bear and Papa Bear as they prepare their home—and their hearts—for the arrival of their little girl, Mia Bear. Through beautiful illustrations and gentle storytelling, children are introduced to adoption in a compassionate, age-appropriate way.

As part of Enough's Adoption Literacy Program, this reading is more than story time. It's an opportunity to help children appreciate different family experiences, encourage kindness and understanding, and introduce language that helps adoptees feel seen, valued, and supported.

Whether your family has been touched by adoption or you're simply looking to introduce your little one to the beauty of different families, all are welcome!

Together, we're helping raise a generation of children who understand that families may be formed differently, but every child deserves to feel loved, worthy, and enough.

Come read, learn, and celebrate belonging with us!

Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Listed by Enough Adoption Foundation (Wix Events), gathered by the Rockville events calendar.
