Playful Perspective in Watercolor

About this event

Learning perspective doesn't have to be difficult. In fact, this class makes it fun. Students come away understanding which rules must be followed and which ones can be bent, disregarded, exaggerated, and otherwise messed with. Each class focuses on one or two principles of perspective, including 1 point, 2 point, 3 point, and atmospheric. After instruction and practice, students use what they learned to create a lively and colorful composition in ink and watercolor, with a few mixed-media options. A variety of subject matter is used: objects large and small, buildings, cars, and maybe even a swimming pool! Learn the rules. Lose the ruler. Perspective drawing has never been this expressive and joyful. Designed for students of all levels. Goals: Practice and gain greater mastery of drawing and composition. Understand basic perspective and apply the principles (1 point, 2 point, 3 point, and atmospheric). Encourage experimentation using ink and watercolor. Gain experience in the techniques of watercolor painting. Acquire the confidence to keep working on your own. Special Program Information The instructor is Amy Dapice.
