Join us for the opening reception of Botanical Alchemy by Beth Stinson at the Community Gallery.

In Botanical Alchemy , Beth Stinson explores the intersection of science, nature, and chance through an innovative process she calls “echo printing.” Using an organic dyeing process, plant materials leave their forms and impressions on paper, creating a dialogue between light, color, time, and chemistry.

The resulting works combine the ephemeral beauty of nature with the permanence of art. Stinson further transforms her layered compositions with watercolor and ink, creating atmospheric and often mysterious images that invite viewers to consider transformation, impermanence, and the quiet beauty revealed through the creative process.

This exhibit will be on view October 29 to November 30, 2026.

Sandy Spring Museum, Inc. is supported in part by funding from the Maryland State Arts Council ( msac.org ) , the Montgomery County Government, and the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County.
