About this event

On Wednesday, November 4, Fight For Children will host the Game On Gala, the nonprofit’s first-ever event of its kind – an elegant, interactive evening designed to turn a traditional gala into a championship celebration. Benefiting Fight For Children’s work to expand access to sports-based youth development, the evening is built around the theme “Play. Compete. Connect. Impact.”

Guests will move freely through eleven immersive zones of play, each featuring a hands-on activity, giving attendees the chance to take the shot, test their skills and compete in cocktail attire. The zones also offer Fight For Children’s coalition of 40+ local youth sports nonprofits a unique opportunity to showcase their organizations to fellow guests and attendees. Zones include soccer, basketball, golf, boxing, and more. Representatives from the Commanders, Spirit, Capitals, DC United, Wizards, Mystics, and Nationals will be taking part in the zones throughout the evening, giving guests the chance to mingle with some of DC’s top teams. Former Redskins Super Bowl champions Gary Clark, Ravin Caldwell, and Clarence Vaughn will also be in attendance.

The evening will be hosted by Howard University’s Radio Host, EZ Street. During the program, longtime Fight for Children member, Alexandria Boxing Club’s Jeffrey Johnson (aka ‘Coach Steady’) will receive the Fight for Children Coach of the Year Award. Guests will enjoy champion-worthy cuisine and craft cocktails throughout the Washington Hilton, including prime rib carving station, made-to-order pasta station and more. A silent auction, available both in person and online, will give supporters another way to take part in the evening and fuel the mission.
